Things To Do

Here are some things that can be done to help the vaping community. If you're able to spend even a little time on any of these things that would be great.

Everybody can do something to help, even if it's just writing responses to media articles. Here are some more ideas:

Chile, Colombia and Argentina are heading for ecig bans. Please contact these departments to tell them that ecigs should stay on the commercial market:

Volunteer to help set up a mentor project for new vapers. Vapers Network is going to try to set up a bank of mentors but we really need someone to work out how to sort out a directory of mentor profiles.

Be an ambassador, think of ways for us to reach out and connect with worldwide vaping communities and individuals. This is what we're all about - making links, so how can we improve community cohesion and embrace the diversity of as many vapers as possible?

Be a newspaper mogul, practice your reporting and editing skills. A regular update of community news for members will help keep us in touch and informed. Can you put together a regular magazine or newsletter?

Help us with technical advice and expertise. Do you know anything about using technology for collaboration and networking? We need ideas about how to improve our website and how to communicate better with others.

The UK government is consulting citizens about getting rid of unnecessary laws and regulations at the moment. Registration takes about thirty seconds and you can vote for or against proposals made by members of the public, or make your own. These are particularly relevant to vapers:

Stop medicalisation of recreational drugs

Repeal Section 70 of the Charities Act 2006 - Cut all public funding to ASH etc

Repeal all funding to 'charities' who lobby (ASH in particular)

Please email VapersClub@aol.com and put the state where you live in the subject line. They will keep you updated on important news, events and appeals.

Richard Blumenthal, Attorney General in Connecticut, has contacted some ecig suppliers to tell them to stop selling to people in Connecticut. Please contact Blumenthal , tell him why he shouldn't interfere with the commercial market and why commercial availability and regulation of ecigs should be supported.

There are all sorts of ways to help. Send us a message about what you like doing and what skills you have, we're sure to think of a job for you. Bossy, opinionated, assertive, community spirited and co-operative people are particularly welcome.
